Project Reveal: Fountain Hills Master Bedroom + Bath

Last week we revealed the laundry and powder bath. Didn’t see it? Check it out here, it’s definitely one you don't want to miss.

We are excited to say that we have saved the best for last! This week we are revealing the master suite. When designing the master suite we wanted it to feel like a sanctuary, a place to look forward to after a long day.

First, we knew the previous dark wall color had to go. The lighter walls make the space feel more open and airy. We chose to paint the walls Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore, the perfect white to lighten up the space. We trimmed out all of the windows creating a more complete look. We decided to paint the trim a contrasting color. We chose Pale Oak by Benjamin Moore which flawlessly coordinates with the walls to create a calming, yet cohesive look. With such a neutral palette we were able to incorporate a lot of beautiful patterns and colors into other aspects of the room.

When we designed this room, we started with this amazing vintage inspired hand knotted wool rug. From there we pulled in colors and built a color story of sage greens, blushes, blues, creams and accents of black. The oversized lamps really set this space apart with their unique shape and textural finishes, so we were thrilled to be able to use them in this project.

Last but not least, the master bath. Now, this master bath is what dreams are made of! Our goal along with the rest of the home was to really bring in the natural light to enhance this room's beauty. It felt so small and dark before we got our hands on it. Now, it is a beautiful space that you'd enjoy getting ready for a busy day of work or a Friday date night!

Since our clients never used the bathtub we decided to get rid of it and replace it with a makeup vanity that matches the double sink. Above the vanity we removed the clouded, glass block window and installed a new window with stunning window treatments to allow that natural light to peek through. Who doesn't love getting ready in front of natural light?! Next, we found a couple simple, modern sconces that tie together perfectly with the vanity hardware. For the cabinets, we decided to paint them Trout Gray by Benjamin Moore to create a sophisticated and moody look.

And finally, the shower! The hand made Zellige tile is EVERYTHING. We were so excited about this tile and decided to lay it in a herringbone pattern. It was the perfect way to add a final eye catching element that completed the design giving it that sleek and bold feel. We love how the color of the tile coordinates perfectly with the marble floors. We hope you enjoyed seeing all of the fun before and after photos of this project. We are always amazed to look back at the before photos and see the incredible transformation!
