Project Reveal: Fountain Hills Entry, Kitchen, Dining + Great Room

This project has been a long time in the making and we are thrilled to finally begin rolling out room by room the final reveal! This custom home was originally built by our clients 20 years ago, so when they sought out our firm to update the home naturally we were thrilled to be a part of a whole home renovation that transformed this ‘tuscan era’ home in a big way. From flooring, to window casing, to lighting and tile- nothing was left untouched.

Today we are starting with the heart of the home, the main living spaces. Between the gorgeous new oak floors, fresh paint, updated lighting, custom cabinetry and demolition of a pony wall in the great room… you’d hardly recognize the place.

When you first enter the front door, which was built by the owner who fabricated it by hand at his steel factory, you are greeted by the perfect entry moment. The entry console is seven feet long so it demanded a grand mirror, which we found complete with a concave shagreen border inlay- essential for adding personality + texture to this little moment.

The back wall of this main space is almost all windows, with the most amazing view of the Arizona mountains. Thankfully the way the home is set on the hill there is no need for privacy window coverings because no neighbors would be able to see in, allowing for tons of natural light. With all this natural light we were delighted to have clients who were open to a darker + moody kitchen. We selected a dark grey color that has a hint of green and accented it with brass hardware. The dining nook is tucked perfectly between the kitchen and great room next to a full wall of windows. We selected a white washed wood round table paired with black dining chairs for this space.

Check out the before and afters of this great room fireplace wall, talk about a major glow up! It was a total gut and we opted for these amazing custom arched built-ins flanking a beautiful limestone mantel. Due to the grand size of these built-ins we had to be conscious of styling them with oversized accessories to fit the scale of these shelves. The color story of this room was neutral, earthy tones which we brought in through pillows, the rug, and these amazing custom velvet accent chairs, complete with accessories crafted of natural materials.
