Over the last couple of weeks we have shared the entry and dining room of our 51st Street Reno Project. Today we are excited to share the den and the den bathroom. Our clients occasionally work from home so they wanted an office where they both could work from. They also wanted this area to function as a secondary media room, or as the wife likes to call it a "man cave" for him to watch his games.
The Den
When we were in the construction phase of this home we knew we wanted this room to be extra special and how can it not be with those gorgeous beams! The oversized brass light fixture helps to bring your eye up showcasing the white beams. We painted the custom built-ins we designed this beautiful dark blue paint color that adds contrast to the space. Since the room has two distinct areas we opted for only one rug so it didn't feel over crowded. The rug under the sofa anchors the sitting area while also setting it apart. By keeping the desk area rug free it allows the chairs to move freely while showcasing the beautiful herringbone hardwoods.
The Den Bathroom
Our clients wanted this bathroom to be a little more modern than the rest of the bathrooms in the house. We kept the color palette classic with black and white tiles and brass accents. By stacking the white subway tile it gives a more modern feel to a classic tile. We chose to paint the vanity this pretty light gray color to soften the contrast between the black and white. We love how the curved mirror, brass sconce, and cross handle plumbing fixtures create a vintage vibe in the room.
