What is trim work?! Trim, millwork, and finish work are all pretty similar when using these terms. They are usually referring to the molding in a home. Anything from window and door casing to decorative moldings on a wall or even a ceiling. I love to incorporate trim as many places as possible in a home, but if I had to choose only a couple of places I would put trim in an entry, great room, dining room, powder bath or master bedroom. These areas are usually the most used spaces in a home.

Trim work elevates any space and makes it look more expensive. It is one of my favorite aspects to complete a design and add that finishing touch that sometimes you don't realize you are missing. You can go bold making the room have a sense of opulence or you can go sleek making the room feel more modern. Trim has been known to increase your homes value, so I always advise my clients to never go without it!

My favorite type of trim to use is more traditional trim that had been around for a long time because it will never go out of style and it looks good with any style of furniture.
