Designer Tip: Wallpaper

It’s no secret that I LOVE a good wallpaper. I know it can be a little scary when thinking about using wallpaper so I thought I would share a few of my favorite tips and tricks on how to use it.

If you are wanting to use wallpaper, but are a little scared try putting it in a smaller space like a powder room. It doesn’t require a lot, so it can be more budget friendly. With this space don’t be afraid to be bold as you can really make a big statement in this small space. I love how these powder rooms incorporate these fun patterns, it really brings out the wow factor.

Kids rooms are one of my favorite spaces to put wallpaper in, as it adds an extra element of fun! If you choose a busier pattern try putting it on just one of the walls. I find that it looks best if you put the wallpaper on the wall behind the bed, which allows this to become the focal point of the room.

This is a busy pattern, but because of the wainscoting we were able to place it throughout the room without it being too overwhelming.

Think outside the box. Wallpaper isn’t only for walls. Try putting it in an unexpected place, for example these rooms have it on the ceiling and the result is stunning!

My favorites have always been the geometrical patterns. My bathroom has a custom designed wallpaper patterned with interlocked Sierpinski triangles, in a black and white. People who have seen it have remarked at how intricate and mesmerizing it is. Thank you for sharing these designs for inspiration!
